We have found the reality in having eggs and meat through the raising of chickens in Kenya. As we look to provide, in time, for the whole village with an ultimate goal of repeating the building and filling of 15 chicken barns with 20 hens each with a rooster to be in each house as well. We, after prayer and consideration for impact, have decided as SpreadSmiles Ministries to purchase the first setup to completion and filling with birds. We then know and trust God speaks to your hearts according to the needs for the 14 more setups.
The community as individual or whole has very little to no knowledge in poultry farming or harvesting of benefits they shall provide such as the eggs and meat going forward,we have already provided the needed $350 for procuring a teacher from the collage in Kisumu to come with booklets and wisdom in these areas. Having been given the needed knowledge on the first Friday of this month, the first group of 10 families have been given the graduation to move forward with the coop and supplies being purchased and assembled and the chickens being brought into it. Brother Kevin was a gracious host in honoring the Lord and our money in also being passed the teaching supplies and lesson for the next families chosen until all, glory to God,shall be taught.
As Christians, we are called to support those in need and promote sustainable solutions. Philippians 2:4 says, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests but also to the interests of others.” By contributing to this cause, we are not only addressing immediate nutritional needs but also empowering the community with resources for long-term growth and stability. Let’s continue to come together, extending our support and making a tangible difference in the lives of the people in Katolo through our faith and generosity.

They are nearing full move in day for 20 laying hens! What a joy to know God provides on our prayers and donations.
